QGIS locator is the universal QGIS search tool for finding resources, functions, geodata, geonames and localities. In this workshop it will be explained what is possible to today, how you can configure Locator and how you can extend it. Plugins can be be used to integrate with national and local GDIs, to integrate their gazeteers or data catalogs.
Workshop idea:
- learn what locator offers out of the box (search for features, algorithms, layouts, layers, calculations, actions, bookmarks, settings, etc.)
- learn how to activate/deactivate certain locator filters
- users can try with a sample project how to search in a project and local data
- get to know the SwissLocator extension
- SoLocator as an example for how to create a plugin that integrates with your own GDI
Workshop instructors: Denis Rouzaud (OPENGIS.ch) and Andreas Neumann (Canton de Soleure)
